Shagun Mehrotra

OVERVIEW

Shagun Mehrotra is an Assistant Professor at Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy. His research, teaching, and policy advice focus on climate change, infrastructure economics and finance, and poverty reduction in cities, particularly in large developing-country slums. As director of the Sustainable Development Solutions Center he has directed over fifty multidisciplinary teams on urban climate change risk reduction and infrastructure reforms. Shagun established Climate and Cities, an international policy advisory facility jointly housed at The Earth Institute, Columbia University, and NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies. Previously, he was on the staff of the World Bank, leading infrastructure reform of public utilities in Africa with a focus on expanding services to the urban poor. Shagun has a PhD from Columbia University, New York, in Urban Planning with specialization in Infrastructure Economics.
